It wouldn't be to hard with a steel rod in the way just a bit of a hassle. If you look at the picture I posted above and read my building log, you'll see that this is exactly what I've done. Except, I let the cabonfiber harden and then sanded it down instead of trimming it.

It's looks very nice with the matching hatch recesses and carbon coaming.
