Having alot of experience with CA glues building R/C planes I can see how it could be used as you suggest. However when I built my Merganser from plans there was ALOT of planing and re-planing of the individual panel edges to refine the fit. I used about half the number of stitches for that process. I can not see how I could have refined my alignments without using temporary wires...? I guess LOTS o Tape would make that part possible but I have my doubts. With a well cut machine made kit I could see the CA glue method as very viable.

: I built a Night Heron S&G and used CA (super glue) glue to join the panels on
: the deck. It worked well for this particular design but takes a bit of
: patience and time. There were some areas that took harder bends and it
: took more spot welds than others. I used the medium thickness glue and an
: accelerator that I purchased at a local hobby store. I would hold the
: panels together and apply about a 1/2" long bead of glue to the seam
: and then spray the accelerator, hold the panel for about a minute while
: the glue set and then move up to the next spot. When all the panels were
: glued together and I was pleased with the fit I applied epoxy to all the
: seams. I would do this again if I were to build another S&G kayak.
