I think I might understand why. I suspect that Freeship is expecting the chine to end up somewhere on the stem. I had to remove an edge and point to make the chine look like your drawings, and then I had to tweak it a bit.

The numbers I gave use the same displacements as Sea Kayaker Magazine, BTW. One thing I noticed is that at that displacement, the sheerline become buried in the water. Also, if you want speed, I'd suggest stuffing some volume in the ends to increase Cp. Your kayak is at the low side of what is typical in kayaks. This may increase resistance under 4 knots, but you'll gain some efficiency above that. It'll also lower the waterline height, so it might be a wash. You'll have to play around with it.
