Before I left for work this morning, I did the end pour in the bow of my kayak. When I got home tonight and checked it, the epoxy seemed to be setting just fine, but the tip of the deck had become delaminated. The hull was fine - it was just on the tip of the deck. Obviously, I'll sand it down to the wood and re-glass that tip, but before I pour the stern I wanted to get some insight from y'all about what happened. Is it the pressure from the epoxy expanding as it cures? or is it caused from the heat generated by the curing epoxy? The external temperature shouldn't have been an issue because it was in a space heated to approx. 60 degrees. Any thoughts?
