I have only done end pours on 2 kayaks and I wrapped the end of the boat in a plastic bag then stood the boat upright in a pail of water. The water absorbs the heat of the curing epoxy and prevents any delamination problems. Oh yes, one more thing: I did a partial end pour in the hull by making a dam with a piece of waxed milk carton. This drastically reduced the size of the final end pour after joining the deck to the hull. Also, use a slow setting hardener if possible.
