: Acetone works well, although you should be cautious about the cloth you use
: to clean it with, as often people use old rags that have been washed with
: fabric softners ect, which will be disolved by the acetone and deposited
: onto the job. This may be what is being deposited when you use the
: alcohol.

I'd recommend not using acetone, if you can insure it's pure acetone and don't mind the considerable evidence about it's health risks, it works, but most of what you find now is recycled and the impurities the epoxy doesn't much like.
