Check on the price and availability of a replacement motor. Does it need an entire new motor? Have you checked to see if it just needs some inexpensive brushes?

The guides should have replaceable inserts. If that is all you need, get a rice on them. Once you have the info, put an ad in the local newspaper and offer it for sale (specify used, as is, needs motor) in the $25 to $50 range, and let perspective buyers know what the cost of getting it fixed will be. You might match up with someone who has a good motor from some other project already on hand. You'll both love the deal.
