Check out the latest "Small Boat Edition" of Wooden Boat magazine this month, page 58. A photo of my kayak is featured along with a story about Nick's design of the Guillemot Night Heron kayak. This picture was from Devil's Island in the Apostles during its inaugural paddle. Good thing the editor chose an old picture, because now this kayak has had a few rock landings and is well worn. How do you guys like my hi-tech paddling shoes?

A few notes about this kayak. I finished this boat 4 years ago last july. The deck is white pine and walnut steam bent to make the swoosh. I bought all the wood at Menards. Bet you didn't know they had a kayak section. There are two bulk heads and bungees under the hatches to hold them watertight. I stopped keeping track of the construction hours after 350. I call this my "anti Law & Order" kayak. Look what you can get done if you stop watching reruns of crime show on tv.
