Ok, one more idea. If you have spray equipment and the experience to use it, there are a few two part sprayable sanding fillers that might make filling the glass weave much faster. It's not cheap btw, but it is fast and fairly light.
Again available only from professional body shop supply houses, not intended for home use, requires pro-style spray equipment.
