: Whoa thems is some nice sized fish. The handline set on my Expedition Single
: is rigged up as described by a buddy who caught a 5ft long tropical
: barracuda from a kayak.
: I am still waiting for my own fish of the day
: Fishing from a kayak is without doubt exciting and the bigger game fish would
: be 'Old man of the sea' exciting.
: Mind you I am not so sure I would be so keen on having an angry little bitey
: between my legs , no matter how tasty it would be smoked
: Be careful out there
: Cheers Pete
Hi Pete,
Angry bitey things get real passve if you whack 'em with a norsaq. Fish, that is.
Oh yeah, a cedar one will dent a bit, hardwood edges are good.
It can get exciting when you hook one, one of the reasons my hand-line is not attached to anything but itself. It floats so if it goes, I can find it again. Usually.
It's even more fun when dolphin are hunting, I've had mackerel jump onto my deck to get away. Bad move. Dinner. But the dolphin were ok with it.
Looking at some of the pictures of 'fishing' SOT,s amazes me, I've seen inshore fishing boats with less equipment on them.
