Narrow for a first kayak, but I suppose it gets the balance sorted out quick. :)

I've seen a few, very nice. I even thought of doing a traditional baidarka frame and skinning it clear. I think that would drive a few about here nuts, the "it'll crack up with the first wave" brigade. Hmmm, tempting, it'd do their hearts good. :D They're a dying breed.
