As I understand it, these have thick paint films, which you can sand smooth to remove bubbles and drips. That should be good for filling shallow weave problems--but I'm not sure if they would "telegraph" the weave just as the thick epoxy film formed from the 2nd and subsequent coats of resin will do. If so, then you might put on three coats --and still see the weave. Of course the glass by now is well burried under the paint, so sanding it smooth should be no problem. You just have more sanding to do.

The added filler in the thickened "ordinary" boat paint should give a randomnest to the coating which destroys any tendency toward this "telegraphing" tendency. At least that is what one would hope.
