: I am just starting my build of a guillemot and unfortunately the 2x4 i bought
: for the strongback appears to have twisted along its length! Any
: suggestions as to what would be a good course of action to take would be
: appreciated.
Everything moves, so what I did take clear 1x2 stock a run struts to the ceiling ties of my 50 year old garage. They have pretension on them and keeps the strong back stiff. I used a plywood 2x4 strongback that was not that stiff. The straightness of the strongback is less important, use strings or laser line up the forms, don't rely on the straight strongback. After you get 6 strips on each side the set up gets stiff and stops moving. I would rip the solid 2x4 and very the lamination. Most 2x4 stock is green or not well kiln dried.
