"General" is a rather generic word. It's meaning to anyone of us depends on what we are involved in.
To me there is no "general" glue. Every kind of stick-um has upsides and downsides. Most of the commonly sold wood glues will produce glue joints that are stronger than the wood they adhere to.
Among folks who build and maintain traditional types of wooden boats the "glue" question goes on and on. A lot of that crowd are determined to find a substitute for epoxy. Up till now they have drawn a blank.
Four problems with glue show up over and over in boatbuilding. Abilty to survived in water, creep, repairabilty and gap filling potential. Some glues can't be used to repair themselves. The fix is epoxy. Some glues will move over time if subjected to ongoing stress. Like a stiff plank sprung into place on a lapstrake boat. Epoxy works here too. Gap filling? Epoxy again. And, at the moment epoxy is the odds on choice for hulls that don't live in the water and isn't too bad for some that do.
Most of the well known glue makers are trying to make their common types of white or yellow glue waterproof. Whether they have made it or not depends on who you talk to.
If you are a going to buy from RAKA you'll have to accept what they say about their products.
