Thanks Mike. Good information. I was looking at the plans and thinking about dropping the whole side 1", then I got concerned about lowering the bow. I had read it would dig into a wave. I like your idea about lowering the middle an inch. Looking at the plans I was thinking maybe tapering it to the cockpit and holding that lower height all the way back.
We live on a big river and lake. So big waves are not a problem. 2 footers would be really big and only in VERY windy conditions. Not something you would typically be paddling in.
I think I may go ahead and build this one. Then build me a something smaller and faster. This appears it would be a good boat to put a newbie in. And it should have the stability I want for photography and fishing as well. I think it is going to be to big for Niece, so I still have to settle on something for her boat.
