With my current SnG build the outside hull was glassed 1st ( not joined with deck)then inside hull glassed. The deck went on with temporary stitches and a foredeck peak formed then deck glassed to an inch of deck edge (inch of bare wood along deck shear). The deck was sanded at a few spots while stitched, to match with hull shape. Take off deck and glass under deck. Settle on cockpit and hatch shape and cut them out.
Restitch the deck and tab fillet in between stitches, remove wire, full outside seam fillet , glass tape outside seam join.

The plans called for rolling up glass tape and soaking in epoxy then squeezing out excess and rolling out inside kayaks deck/hull join as far as can be reached - it all went O.K. I did epoxy on two, 5 inch strips of glass tape ( on each side of kayak joins)up past the rolled on tape because there was a few feet of no inside tape rolled on up there. This was done with a stick and a 3 inch wide foam brush taped on the end.

It was a real bonas to have nice big hatch openings to work around inside, though my back muscles are now strained from scraping and sanding the tape edges inside the kayak. Ouch!
The plans are for the Point Bennett sea kayak are available, generously, at www.rollordrown.com Here is a link to the building blog.
