If you have wooden frames you can lay slats of 3/8"x2 stock over them. Just use small screws in predrilled holes to hold them in place. Leave a gap of about 1/4 inch between the slats so they drain if things get wet

You can use narrower slats, or wider ones as well. Depending on your weight you may want to go with stock which is 1/2" thick instead of 3/8".

Or, do as he shows for the plastic frames and bolt an aluminum angle to the side of a frame and lay either some wide boards, plywood, or wood slats on those angles.
