Good to see you got that material. For what it's worth, I ripped mine into 3 strips each for the hull, and they came out to about 13mm wide once faired and planed.

If I was starting again, I would start with a narrower sheer strip, one of the 13mm strips ripped in half again. The only problem I have had so far is making the sheer strip bend into the position required. I'm building a Guillemot, which has a reasonable amount of sweep in the sheer line at the bow end, as well as recurve in both ends that results in a wonderful 'wine-glass' shape, which looks great but is toruous to form with thinner, wider strips. I would also use half width strips in the chine area.

I don't know the Mystery design at all. If the shape resembles the Guillemot I would suggest you consider narrower strips as described.

On the other hand, you can go way wider on the flatter sections of the deck. My plan is to use narrow strips on the deck to make the curve up from the sheer to the flatter section, then use wide strips - maybe full width - running parallel with the centreline. I'm still some way off making the deck though.
