: I am an experienced paddler and frequently paddle a ShearWater Blue Fin that
: is 18 ft long and 21 inches wide. However, in waves greater than 18"
: I find it tippy and prefer my wider plastic boat....I am 6 ft tall, weigh
: in at 200 pounds.
John,
The Sonnet 18 no longer exists as explained in the attached Link. In it's
place are a Sonnet 16 in either 21" or 23" width. Either has sufficient
displacement for your weight, and both are very stable and nuetral in the
conditions you mention. I prefer the narrower version. The attached pic
shows both boats before the stem modifications.
Inflatable / folder / hybrids are a new experience for me, so a few
changes here and there are to be expected as I "prototype" along the learning
curve
Contact me offline anytine.

Tom
