I like this idea better than the others, a hard patch in the crack may fix the problem but it may make it worse. The epoxy will be harder than the wood, and if the wood shinks the epoxy won't, and you will at best have a new crack to fix and at worst have a 2 piece paddle. Without glassing the blades, a wood plug will last way longer.
