I have to agree--moving the fence on every cut is bound to introduce more variation than you want for your strips. One of the selling points seems to be that the cut strip, not being trapped against the fence, is less likely to kick back. I'm a proponent of ending the fence at the front of the blade. That way neither the strip nor the mother board is trapped against the fence. I also use multiple featherboards which 1) insure a consistent feed over 100's of strips and 2) greatly reduce the possibility of kickback.

Maybe if you were cutting strips oversize and planing to their finish thickness . . .

BTW, when you gang saw strips, what do you use for spacers between the blades?
