: I like this idea better than the others, a hard patch in the crack may fix
: the problem but it may make it worse. The epoxy will be harder than the
: wood, and if the wood shinks the epoxy won't, and you will at best have a
: new crack to fix and at worst have a 2 piece paddle. Without glassing the
: blades, a wood plug will last way longer.

thanks for all the ideas. I'll start with sanding to see how deep the oil went and go from there.
