I was able to get a bare boat weight of 26 pounds on my Mystery, it made it to 31 pounds after I made a rather heavy foot-brace and rudder system. I don't think that it should that hard to build a stripper surf ski in the low 20 lbs range. It would take thin strips and will not be as tough as a heavier built boat, but for racing purposes it should be sufficient.
