Hi Tony,
I'd agree with Secondary Stability Rules as long as there IS some initial stability. My greenlander has some Vee all along the keel and my baidarka has a heck of a lot and they both feel quite stable sitting still. As long as the water is not completely flat.
On dead flat water, both feel squirrely or twitchy, just small movements to stay comfortably upright. They're fine as soon as I'm moving, there's some level of dynamic stability involved, I think.
Once there's any water movement, small waves and such, the twitchiness seems to disappear. It's still there but you don't notice it because you're working with the water.
They both have good secondary stability.
