: I'm trying to remove heavy oxidation off a fiberglass (gelcoat finish) kayak.
: I've been using Novus plastic polish (number 2 level) and my random orbit
: sander with hook and loop polishing pad. The problem is the pads keep
: separating from their backing. Apart from that, the results look good.
: Any recommendations on a different tool/attachment? I really don't want to do
: the whole thing by hand. (I treated the kayak badly and left it in the sun
: way too much).
I'd check an auto detailing site like www.autopia.org, they have a section on boat detailing as well as cars. I've picked up some good tips there and may use a polish and machine when I finally finish the arctic tern and LPU it.
Good luck
Randy
