Lake 1,2,3 & 4. This is lake 3. *Pic*

Lake 1 is the put in lake about 20 miles from Ely at End Of The Road, which has a parking lot. There are two portages to lake 2, one you could through a rock across and the other one I would guess 500 feet. After that you can paddle lakes 2,3 and 4 and would make a nice three or four day trip. I spent about 10 days there after Labor Day when the bugs were down. I camped on lake 2 using it as my home base. I had the only kayak I saw, as canoes seem to rule. They are no doubt easier to portage.

On my early morning drive in the dark to lake 1 I saw two wolves at the edge of the road. Thrilling.
