: I'm trying to remove heavy oxidation off a fiberglass (gelcoat finish) kayak.
: I've been using Novus plastic polish (number 2 level) and my random orbit
: sander with hook and loop polishing pad. The problem is the pads keep
: separating from their backing. Apart from that, the results look good.
: Any recommendations on a different tool/attachment? I really don't want to do
: the whole thing by hand. (I treated the kayak badly and left it in the sun
: way too much).
Well...there's several kinds of hook and loop, some better than others. I have a couple different sanders and the Bosch's hook and loop holds better than the others. As per usual, you get what you pay for.
Still like my Ryobi for it's lightness, but it's hook and loop is the worst.
