: weight and the water would run to the other side. We were in trouble and I
: started to take my boots and clothes off for swimming. About 30 feet from
: the other shore we capsized but were able to pull the boat to shore and
: get our gear. With a v bottom or a round bottom the water would center in
: the middle of the boat. No way would I have a flat bottom kayak.

Btw, go paddle the Current Designs Caribou then decide. The ends are deep V shaped but the bottom in the middle is nearly flat. It's also an excellent offshore kayak.
