Last summer I had a builder in Sweden inquire about the costs of shipping strips from the US. It just so happened that I was sending out an order the next day to someone in the US, so I asked what it would cost to ship the same package to Sweden.

The package was 8 foot cove and bead strips, more than enough for 1 kayak. It weighed 41 pounds and contained about 1800lf of 5/8 and 1/2 inch strips in a mixture of WRC and NWC. The value of the wood was $500. The shipping estimates were between $350 and $430, depending on the level of service from UPS.
