Hi all,
For my latest project, I bought 6-oz regular glass from Industrial Plastics and Paint in Victoria, BC. Using Silvertip, it doesn't wet out quite clear - leaves those ghosty little fibers that others have remarked on before. I know it's the glass, because the same epoxy works fine on glass from a previous boat. The System 3 people concur, and actually have some specific glass manufacturers they recommend. I'm sure the layup is perfectly strong, but it's annoying to lose that 'perfect' transparent look despite good epoxy and technique (for once).
The guy at IPP seemed not to understand my complaint, and I have little faith that anything will be done about it. So, Victoria buyers beware.
