I have been looking for information on building a kayak (or a canoe). Basically it will be used for lake paddling and fishing. Ease of construction, fairly lightweight design, versatility, and price are also main concerns here.

Probably some of you have built any of these designs. Some questions regarding any of the abovementioned kayaks designs:

1. Which design (company/model) will you strongly recommend for somebody without woodworking or boatbuilding experience?

2. How long (estimate) does it take to build it?

3. What is the (approximate) total building cost?

4. Any pictures (of these designs) of your finished project?
