: It is a fun boat, and I have come to love the ability to dance on the water
: with it. I tried several boats at Delmarva, and the only one that felt
: similar was the Guillemott. I have yet to try an Anas, however, and would
: like to feel the combination of hard chines and maneuverability. I think
: that's what I would like to try to put into my SOF.

For me, the Anas is not as maneuverable as a Pintail. When Max (who's more your size) paddled it, she couldn't keep it going in a straight line. It seems that bigger paddlers find it slow, but smaller paddlers don't seem to complain about the speed. Max thought is was the fastest of the low volume boats she tried at the time (Meridian SKS, Anas Acuta and Slipstream).

One thing that surprised me was how stable the Anas is. The initial stability felt higher than a Pintail's. The effect of the hard chine hull was subtle compared to a Caribou or an Ellesmere, more like my SOF boat.
