Sealed Bulkheads

Hi everyone

Two years ago I built an 8ft Kayak for my son. It has two epoxy-sealed compartments for flotation. It is performing very well. However, I was advised recently to vent the bulkheads in order to avoid rot. So should I drill a hole in the BH and plug with a cork when the kayak is being used or should I just leave it alone?
