We're on the same page about lining up the stringers (I'm using duct tape) before determining the size of the plywood panels for the c-beam. What I had not comprehended is that you are recommending I space my plywood panels so that I have a slot between panels into which a rib would fit. As for fastening the plywood to the ribs, I'm not sure if I like U-bolts or hose clamps better. Any opinions? The advantage I see to hose clamps is that they could be permanently mounted on the plywood and I wouldn't have to remove them (and keep track of them) each time I dismantled.
As regards the waterproofing, what do you recommend? I've got a baby blue batch of that roof sealer left over from another project. Not sure I'm crazy about the color, but it might do the sealing job. Anything else better or ultimately lighter?
