Here's the way I mounted my Guzzler 400 pump. Hoses top & bottom are flexible to allow installing/removing. Bottom (intake) hose has notches cut in it, making it effectively a "strum box". I plan to experiment with different intakes, though.

By shifting the pump up as high as practical, it's comfortable to use.

The foam blocks glued to the bulkhead are my foot rests. This is just a temporary installation, but it works pretty well.
