: Help please. I need to find a "tried and true" glue that will
: replace epoxy for glueing a hardwood tip on a Greenland paddle, and also
: for scarfing gunwales for a skin on frame. Epoxy based glues or finishes
: are out for me as I have developed a severe epoxy allergy. The glue must
: be available in Canada.

I used Pro Bond polyurethane glue on the coaming on my SOF and so far it's held up great. I'll be using it again on a skeg that I'll be adding this week.

When scarfing your gunwale boards, I'd suggest that you drill and peg them, in addition to gluing. I'm facing this same predicament on my next SOF boat, unless I can find suitable gunwale board lumber longer than 16'.
