looks good! nice to see the colour coding, short loops and hear abt the necked CA approach. But does your method just butt the rubber ends together? and then cover over that?

If the necked approach is semi ok, what about stretching one end and cutting the sheath, rolling back say 1 1/2 inches and variably cutting the rubber so the rubber frays out to nothing 1 in away. the tension is now released and pull the sheath over and grabbing just the very end of the sheath pull tight again. Would it neck down to nothing? Saturate the rubber part, not the very end and cut off 1/4 in past the rubber. Melt the nylon to make a needle. Now have a taper abt 1in long ending in a needle point.

cut the bungee same thing on the other side, roll back the sheath and insert the needle in the middle up to 1in. Since bothe sides feather, may be same diameter. Glue in place, even rubber Glue? Wonder if you could prime the needle area? Flex urethane maybe.

Pull the sheath over both and get sheath bonding as well as rubber.

possible, possibly
