I have been paddling my Coho for four years now and find your statement quite different than my experience. The Coho turns easily but you must lean aggressively. I have found most people don't know the limits of edging the Coho's multichine hull. I regularly lean on a low brace with the coaming partly submerged. The more the lean, the quicker the turn.

I have also paddled the Osprey std. and found it a better tracking boat but did not turn as easily as the Coho, even though it is shorter. It has less rocker than the Coho.

As far as the Coho being high volume, I agree but I like the room, especially for camping. My 120# wife says she feels "safe" in it.

It is difficult to have one boat for every purpose and paddler size. I feel the Coho fits the needs of the average size to large paddler for day use to extended trips. The smaller paddler may be happier with a lower volume boat. The AT 14 may be a good choice or one of the of the Mergansers.
