: while I was doing 150 grit sanding, I noticed some small pits in the epoxy.
: pin head size. Will the several coats of varnish fill these in?
I remember asking the same question some time ago. Just get it near perfect with epoxy filling. Lots of filling and sanding. As I got to the end I applied epoxy just to problem areas patches and then sanded. Then I bought some 5 minute clear epoxy at walmart and did my final quick small hole filling and sanding. What amazed me was when you put gloss varnish on your boat, everything looks perfect. The gloss seems to hide the imperfections that you know are there. Maybe I have just breathed too many fumes.
