Yeah, but I only met the reserve price on one (my first choice), so I'm safe. I've only ever bid on E-bay a few times in my life but never got anything. It always seemed that someone was waiting until the last second to outbid me and were willing to pay more than I was. I expect that will be the case here as well.
Thanks for the sharpening reminder though.

: Bidding on a couple, eh? Well if you win more than one of the auctions, you
: can send the extra one to me if you want. I played around with my dad's
: drawknife a lot, but haven't gotten around to buying one for myself.
: Seriously though, if you win an Ebay auction, you will probably be buying a
: dull drawknife, so you will need to sharpen it. If you have sharpening
: stones, then you are set already. If not, I wouldn't recommend buying
: stones. They can get pretty expensive after you buy all the various grits,
: and you can get good results by using progresivley finer grits of
: sandpaper. Here is a link to a silly site that describes sharpening with
: sandpaper the "scary sharp" way. It works.
: The trick with a drawknife is that you need to bring the paper to the knife
: instead of the knife to the paper. That's because the handles get in the
: way. I've heard of people using sanding drums chucked into a handheld
: drill. You could also wrap sandpaper around a block of wood. That would
: probably be good enough. The super fine grits of sandpaper can be
: purchased at an auto supply store in the painting section.
: Have fun with your new toys.
