Hi Kurt,

Get a book on tuning table saws. You will need it once you have a saw of your own anyway. It will tell you what to look for when buying a saw too. I really like Delta. A contractor saw is fine for most things.
You don't need much power (from a router) to run beed and cove on cedar, or most any wood. I really like py Porter Cable 690 and feel it will last for ever with maintnence.
