While working in a cold garage can be done, if it were me I'd take the warm basement, with it's trade-off of elbow room. You will have a much easier time getting the epoxy to cure. Just be sure you can get the boat out. Or did you need a new window anyway? :) If you set up the strongback with a table on each side, and keep all the strip and tools right there handy, you can get by with a pretty thin space. You can always do all the ripping, or layout if it's a plywood boat, out in the cold.

: I've got heat light & all my tools in the basement.
: I'd have to re-arrange practically everything to put a 17' kayak together
: down there AND definitely be cramped for walk around space - but it could
: be done. The other alternate is the garage - which can get pretty nippy in
: NJ and while my car would be sacrificed outside the wife wants hers
: inside. Images of a snow covered vehicle in the same space as my (to be!)
: nurtured kayak has a few alarm bells ringing.

: Advice on the pros & cons of garage v basement would be appreciated.

: Chas
