: braided cord that flattens out if squished.

Dynel is totally opaque and will look white. I think it's more expensive.

The polypropylene cloth is translucent when applied as I suggested so it's much less noticable.

All these specialty cloths absorb a LOT of resin so only use a small amount of cloth where needed.

I've a friend who put a 4" strip from bow to stern. I swear that strip added 15 pounds to his boat weight.

I used to kid him that his boat was going to be added to the list of Canadian ice breakers.

Later he sanded off most of it.
