After two winters of building S&G kayaks I decided to do a 13 ft. strip canoe of my own design. I'd like to buy full length B&C strips but the shipping estimates I've gotten are prohibitively high. It occurs to me that if the strips were short enough (less than 8') they could be shipped UPS thus saving a bundle. So, two questions; would I be making a mistake trying to build a 13' boat with all short strips, and does anyone know who might supply shorter strips and ship UPS, preferably as close to Flagstaff AZ as possible?
