I talked with Chris Cunningham today, and here is a recap (my remarks in parentheses):

The red boat he demonstrated at R2K1 is the original boat, built from the original offsets. It wasn't until he scaled the boat down for a small woman that he discovered the wobble in the keel, and went back to revise the offsets. (Maybe that is the hollow in the keel that I saw?) The new boat is basically the same as the old one.

He doesn't think the Crosscut Hardwoods boat is one of his, more likely a CLC or Pygmy Queen Charlotte. (I still disagree - the knuckles in the foredeck are his design element, carried over from the SOF's, and unlike any deck CLC or Pygmy ever had. There is a weird shallow peak between the knuckles in the Crosscut boat, for which I have no explanation except artistic license by the builder. It also has the SK-characteristic adjustable skeg with the trunk open from the keel to the deck and the actuation line running on top of the deck.)

The rocker should be about symmetrical. There is no acceleration of the curve in the stern intended as a design element. Either it's an optical illusion, or a mistake. As an experienced boatbuilder he may have faired out an offset flaw during construction. The rocker should be roughly symmetrical.

Plywood is superior to cedar strips. His bias that direction may go back to years ago when he did boatbuilding and repair, and worked on several old cedar strip canoes. A hairline crack in the glass allows water into the cedar, which sucks it up like a straw, causing major rot damage. Plywood doesn't do that. It's also stronger and harder as a substrate for the glass, so takes dings and abuse better. Also much faster to build, but we knew that, didn't we? He's not into floating art, he uses his boats hard. Strip-building would be a waste of time.
