I used the CPES in lieu of varnish, boiled linseed, tung oil, diesel, or any of the other noxious mixtures recently posited for sealing and finishing. Shafts, blades and everything were doused with the stuff. It only took 3 oz., half of which evaporated away, and left a nice, velvety natural wood look and feel, but the whole unit is sealed permanently. No measurable absorption of water occurs after total immersion. CPES wouldn't work for the glue though, way too thin. This material is 54% volatile organic solvents. Perfect as a sealer though.
