If you're not ready to bite the digital bullet yet, invest in a good film or flatbed scanner. That way you can enjoy your current cameras and still get digital files of your images. You will have to balance the cost benifit ratio for yourself. At high resolution from an affordable scanner often produces files in the 8-11 megapixel range--something only $25,000 (yes that's $25,000!) digital large format scanning backs can do. Have fun with your photography, but unless you want to go all the way with digital, a film scanner or a really cheap digital camera seems the way to go for web posting--probably leaning towards the really cheap digital camera if you only want to post on the web (although the photo CD is quite affordable) or a scanner if you want to manipulate an image in Photoshop and output an image on an inkjet printer. But then you're looking at a high quality printer and ink is expensive! Keep shooting

: I'm not ready to bite the digital bullet yet. I like the negatives. I like to
: be able to get a good photo print. So..., this is what I've been doing.
: I take the photos with my Pentax 105WR or canon A1 with Fuji negative film.
: Typically 200-800 ISO. Then I use kodak photo developement and check the
: photo CD box. 2 days later I have photographic prints, negatives and photo
: CD (1536X1024). From Costco or K-Mart that'll run me about 11 bucks.
: Safeway is about 15.
: The plus is the photo print, negative, and a high quality scan. I can also
: develope a lot of film for the price of most digital cameras. The minus is
: waiting 2+ days. Also they don't have this service for slides.
: So I got a question. Lets say I drag out my medium format camera at the next
: kayak meet. What's a good, user friendly affordable way of getting digital
: images from 120 film?
