: I won't read any posting from Mr Mack, but I assume that we had another
: "MACK ATTACK"
So do you really know if "we had another one" or not? In fairness to Rob, we didn't.
There were previous threads that could reasonably be viewed as attacks by Mr. Macks. I don't believe this is one of them. Those things were more or less settled then...bury the hatchet.
There was another frequent poster who posted some pretty vitriolic responses to others sincere questions from time to time. In those threads, he deserved what he got. He began to get flamed for every post he made. It just made things worse, to the point a certain BBS host got threatened with a lawsuit.
If someone posts something that isn't exactly right or kind or honest or fair, I feel it is our responsibility as members of this online community to correct each other. Attacking someone's present post for something they said in the past may be their 'just due', but it does absolutely nothing for our sense of community, and nothing good comes of it.
It's like scolding my dog for something she chewed up a month ago. I get to release my pent-up anger, but she just gets confused, and possibly resentful, and if I did it a lot, it might make her mean.
