How about a decal? I use decal material purchased from www.micromark.com to make the logos for my guitars. Print it on an inkjet printer and use a spray fixative. I'm going to try that approach with a scanned color dragonfly photo on my Storm. The decal material is clear, so it would have a semi-transparent appearance on the boat. Scan the leaves, print 'em on decal sheet. Ink-jet transparency film also works well. I'll be embedding it in the finish, not the epoxy, however. That way I can change the graphic occasionally.
