Hi Myrl
Last year I built the S&G Guillemot.
Tape on the inside seams, cloth on the outside of the hull and deck.
so far so good.
I agree with Jim to build the 17' for yourself and smaller for your wife.
I'm in Kelowna if you'd like to try one.
